“For Want of a Nail”
For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the message was lost.
For want of a message the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.
For Want of a Heel.
For want of a heel, there was no body.
For want of a body, there was no bruise.
For want of a bruise that was no shedding of blood.
For want of the shedding of blood, there was no forgiveness.
For want of forgiveness there is no escape from God’s wrath.
For want of escape from God’s wrath, there is no hope in this life or the next.
All for the want of a heel.
